Sea Otter West!
Hey anglers,
Despite the fluke bite being picky this week, anglers managed to pick
away at some nice fish. Tues evening Albert managed 6 keepers up to 3
lbs., only keeping his limit and Sheppy landed over 15 fish with 7 keepers
to 3.5 lbs. only keeping his limit and a 8 lb. skate. Wed. Evan Marchetti
won the pool with a nice 4 lb. flattie. Wed. NT Capt. Glenn had a blue
bite that never stopped all NT with fish up to 10 lb hitting the decks
and the blue have been biting like this day and NT all week so come
on and bend the rod. Thurs. trips in the day, morning bite got off
to a good start with Jerry high hook with 6 keepers to 3lbs only keeping
his limit, afternoon bite a little picky with anglers taking home 2- 3
fish a piece. Thurs. NT fluke was slow, but we managed to jig up some
blues to keep everyone in the action. Fri. and Sat. a.m. trip continued
to be on the slow side, but Sat. afternoon the action was hot
and heavy again jigging blues to 4lbs. for the first half and
some anglers catching there limit on second half, not bad for a couple
hours of fishing. Sea Otter West Fri. NT trip this week is
chartered and Steve Powers remains in the lead
of our derby. We would also like everyone to know that the
blue fish are all over from 2 lb cocktails to 15 lb gorillas so come on
down and wrestle these bad boys while the are still around.
We are trying something new, in August we will be sailing on Sat. NT for
a fireworks cruise, call or go to the web for details.

Sea Otter West!
Hey anglers,
To open the first place derby angler this week is Steve Powers with a
5 lb. fluke on Fri. full day trip and held trough this weekend. The fluke
bite started off strong this first half of the week, with anglers limiting
out in a few hours. The pool fish between 2.5 - 5lbs. The evening fluke
has seen a few less fish then our day trips but still a decent pick. The
NT. bass/blue fish trips have turned to mostly blues with fish hitting
the decks at the 3- 8lb. range. On our full day trips with the fluke being
good enough for everyone to fill there pails, we end up chuncking or jigging
up some good blue fish action to end the day. The Sea Otter West will
now sail Wed. as a full day boat only
and making Fri. a half day boat 8 - 12 and 1 - 5, still keeping
our 6 - 11 NT. trips the same. We would also like to thank all
the anglers and first timers from the NYAC of New Rochelle for joining
us on a great trip on Sat.

Sea Otter West!
Hey anglers,
Mon., Tues.,and Thurs. evening fluke bite has been extremely good with
most anglers catching over their limit and only keeping three, with fish
averaging 2 lbs. and the pools between 3-5 lbs. Wednesday, Friday, and
Sat. night bass trips are good with a couple of bass to 20 lbs and some
blues to 8 lbs in the mix. We are now going to combo our NT. trips with
fluke & blues. Wed., & Fri. full day trips have seen plenty of
action with some anglers limiting out on fluke and putting some porgies/sea
bass in there coolers also. We've also been able to jig up some blues
during these trips up to 9lbs. Thurs., Sat. and Sun. fluke trips are keeping
all the anglers busy, again with most anglers limiting out and others
catching there fill of sea robins and porgies. We had a couple of light
tackle trips this weekend and have seen plenty of action on the top water
with bass to 17 lbs and Kuni catching and releasing his first bass ever
on a 6 lb test set up, what a blast!
The
Sea Otter West is booked for Thurs. 7/15/04 - 'afternoon' 12-4pm and Sat.
7/17/04.
We are also
starting a 'Fluke Derby' this week, Wed.
7/14/04, and sign in will continue to 8/18/04.

Sea Otter West!
Hey, this
week the bite for fluke started off slowly but gradually became very good
on Sat. morning, with over 50 keepers and the pool at 4lbs, all within
10 mins. of the dock. Bass action at night has slowed up for us, but there
are some anglers still getting into good fish, hopefully, we can get on
them this week. Our Fri. night trip saw a couple of bass to 22 lbs. and
some blues to 6 lbs. where in the mix. The morning and evening fluke bite
has been great and the afternoon trips have seen fish to 4lbs but a few
less then the other trips.
Since we've had a lot of calls, we are running open
on Monday two trips for fluke, so come on down
and get into the action!
