Date: 9-28-04 From: Lobster Man, <Lobsterrock2000@yahoo.com> Subject: Sea Otter West! Anglers, Blue fishing on jigs and bait remains outstanding and we are starting to see fish in the teens at night. Our boat is chartered on Sat. the 2nd, on all trips. We have continued bottom fishing on our full day trips and have had a decent pick of porgies and sea bass but need to see it improve for everyone. We are also starting to pick a few bass during both the day and night. This fall run looks like it could become very good. Beginning Oct. 1st, we will be starting some black fishing, as we can fish for them, while looking for the scup and sea bass. Capt. Joby finally caught up with those bonito and nailed 2 up to 7.5 lbs. while on a light tackle trip with more bass and blue action on top plugs. ********************************************************** Date: 9-19-04 From: Lobster Man, <Lobsterrock2000@yahoo.com> Subject: Sea Otter West! Anglers, Another exceptional week of fishing on the sound. The blues remain good, to great, as fish from 3 lbs. to 9 lbs. continue to clear the rail. On the porgie front we have seen an improvement this week but still the fishing could be better and with some sea bass around, we can't wait until the season opens again. We have two charters on Sat. the 25th and only have the afternoon trip as open boat. The light tackle fishing has also been very good and this week we had a keeper bass on every trip along with 20-30 fish the action just keeps on going. We hope to see you down at the dock. ********************************************************** Date: 9-16-04 From: Lobster Man, <Lobsterrock2000@yahoo.com> Subject: Sea Otter West! >>>>>>>>>> UPDATE <<<<<<<<<< Saturday the 18th the boat will be chartered for the morning trip only ! Both the afternoon and evening trips are now available! ********************************************************** Date: 9-12-04 From: Lobster Man, <Lobsterrock2000@yahoo.com> Subject: Sea Otter West! Hello Anglers, This week we saw blue fish hitting the decks to 9 lbs. everyone catching their limit plus on every trip. We've been seeing the bigger fish on our NT. trips while fishing with bait. We've been hitting the porgies spots on a regular basis and getting a short pick at a few fish , so when things slow up we've been pounding the blues on jigs giving everybody plenty of action and filet's for the dinner plate. It looks like Sat. the 18th the boat is chartered on both the day and NT. trips, but please check with our message at the end of the week to make sure, 516 676-6361. The light tackle this week put anglers into plenty of blues and bass with 15-20 fish on each trip with an occasional keeper bass 29"-33". Also, we have been seeing some Bonita around and will be going for them this week. Congratulations! To Patty Luth Lizza for winning the 1st annual Fluke derby with a 5.2 lb'r and Steve Powers runner up with his 5 lb'r !!! ********************************************************** Date: 9-05-04 From: Lobster Man, <Lobsterrock2000@yahoo.com> Subject: Sea Otter West! Hello Anglers, This week we had some nice doormats hitting the decks up to 6 lbs. Wed. we saw our best day with everyone taking home their limit. We also had a super week of blue fishing, taking fish to 7 lbs. on jigs and bait. We will settle our fluke derby on monday and look forward to changing over to scup for Sept. We will be changing our schedule dramatically, so please call or go to our web site before you come down. Also, there will be some fare changes so please check it out. Our light tackle trips have been very rewarding, with 10-15 bass to 15 lbs. and all the blues you can wind in every trip, all on top water plugs and diamond jigs. Our six-pack trip on Thurs. saw Gio and his family catch plenty of fluke to 3 lbs. for the frying pan. ********************************************************** (Click Here To Navigate Archived Reports - ( '04 Feb.-April, May, June, July, August, September, Oct - Dec, '04 ) ('05 March- May, June - July, Current Report '05)
